Texas Peridontist Receives Honor from the AAP

2007 recipient of the Outstanding Periodontal Educator Award

CHICAGO—October 30, 2007—Donald E. Willmann, DDS, professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, is the 2007 recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Outstanding Periodontal Educator Award.

The Outstanding Periodontal Educator Award recognizes an exemplary periodontal faculty member who demonstrates excellence in teaching and is an inspiration to students. This award is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.

“Dr. Willmann received the award today at the AAP’s 93rd Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, for his skill, character, dedication and commitment to education that have made him a nationally recognized force in predoctoral periodontal education,” said Preston D. Miller, Jr., DDS, and 2006-2007 president of the AAP. “He is not only a gifted teacher but a positive role model in the classroom.”
