Dr. Kenneth Krebs Served as AAP President in 2005-06

Dr. Krebs maintains a private periodontal practice in Chicago, Illinois.

CHICAGO – The American Academy of Periodontology installed Kenneth A. Krebs, D.M.D., as president at its 91st Annual Meeting in Denver. He maintains a private periodontal practice in Chicago.

Kenneth KrebsAn AAP member since 1968, Krebs has served on the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. In addition to his work with the Academy, Krebs is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois Society of Periodontics, and past president and Executive Director of the Midwest Society of Periodontology.

Krebs was an associate professor of clinical periodontics at Northwestern University from 1975-2001. He continues to guest lecture and is published in the Journal of Periodontology. In 2001, he was appointed as a member of the Wilmette Village Board of Health, and is now serving his second term.

“I am excited to take on my new position as president of the AAP and I look forward to working with the Board to make the most of interesting opportunities in the areas of emerging science on the horizon,” said Krebs.

Krebs received his DMD from University of Louisville, College of Dentistry in 1967, and his certificate in periodontics from the University of Kentucky in 1970.
