AAP Clarifies the Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Periodontal
The Guidelines are intended to help dentists quickly identify those patients at greatest risk and therefore most appropriate for treatment by a periodontist. However, the Guidelines do not include treatment or referral mandates.
Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Periodontal Diseases Released
The American Academy of Periodontology commissioned a task force to develop the Guidelines to encourage referring dentists and periodontists to work together to optimize the health of patients.
