Dental Student Interest Group

This program gives predoctoral dental students who have an interest in periodontics online access to all AAP member-only content, including the Journal of Periodontology and a multitude of research and practice info.

Eligibility for DSIG Participation

A predoctoral dental student is entitled to join the AAP Dental Student Interest Group (DSIG) if the following requirements are met:

  • Current enrollment in a U.S. dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association
  • Current membership in the American Student Dental Association (ASDA)
  • Submission of a complete and accurate DSIG online application
  • Payment of first year's DSIG fee ($57) via credit card with application

Graduates of a predoctoral dental school may apply for AAP membership as Student members (if they are enrolled in postdoctoral training in periodontics) or as Associate members (if they did not pursue postdoctoral training).
