Dr. Allan Charles Elected to AAP Foundation Board

The election took place at the AAPF's Board of Directors meeting in San Francisco.

CHICAGO, November 29, 2003 – At its annual meeting in San Francisco in September, the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation board of directors elected Allan H. Charles, D.D.S., to his first three-year term on the board.

Prior to his election to the AAP Foundation board, Dr. Charles served the specialty in various capacities, including president of the California Society of Periodontists and several terms on the board of trustees of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Charles maintains a private practice limited to periodontics in Pasadena, California.

The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is dedicated to improving the periodontal and general health of the public by increasing public and professional awareness of periodontal diseases; stimulating and supporting clinical research and the generation of new knowledge; and enhancing educational programs and opportunities in periodontology. Periodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.
