Dr. Susan Karabin Named to AAP Foundation Board

The election took place at the AAPF's Board of Directors meeting in San Diego.

CHICAGO—October 19, 2006–Susan Karabin, D.D.S., was named to an ex officio seat on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation at the Board’s recent meeting in San Diego. Dr. Karabin is also president-elect of the American Academy of Periodontology. She maintains a private periodontal practice in New York and is an assistant clinical professor at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery.

Dr. Karabin has served on the AAP Board of Trustees, as chair of the Finance and State and Regional Periodontal Matters Committees, as a member of the Planning and ADA Liaison Committees, and numerous other committees and task forces. She is past president of the New York Academy of Dentistry and president of the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. She has also served as a member of the editorial board for Dentistry Today and Periodontal Clinical Investigations and is currently serving on the editorial board for the Journal of Gender Specific Medicine.
