Dr. Jeffrey Kopman Joins AAP Foundation Board

CHICAGO—October 31, 2005—Jeffrey Kopman, DDS, of Huntington, New York, was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation at the Board’s meeting in Denver last month.

Dr. Kopman received his DDS from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, and his Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology from Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, where he also received his Certificate in Periodontology. In 2000, Dr. Kopman was awarded the AAP Foundation’s Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence. Dr. Kopman also served as a clinical instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is dedicated to improving the periodontal and general health of the public by increasing public and professional awareness of periodontal diseases; stimulating and supporting clinical research and the generation of new knowledge; and enhancing educational programs and opportunities in periodontology. Periodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.
