CHICAGO, November 29, 2003 – The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation elected S. Jerome Zackin, D.M.D., to a one-year term as president during its board of directors meeting in San Francisco in September.
Dr. Zackin received his B.A. with Honors and Distinction in Biology from Wesleyan University, and his
Dr. Zackin maintained a private practice in Lawrence, Massachusetts until 1998. He has held hospital appointments at Holy Family in Methuen, Massachusetts, and Lawrence General (Lawrence, Massachusetts) and currently holds honorary appointments at both institutions.
He has held numerous positions with the American Academy of Periodontology, where he served on the board of trustees from 1986 to 1992. He received a Fellowship Award from the Academy in 1994 and is also a Fellow in the American College of Dentists.
