AAP Foundation Elects Paul A. Levi, Jr., to Its Board

Levi maintains a private practice in Burlington, Vermont, and is chairman of the postdoctoral clinical program in periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

CHICAGO – November 5, 2001 – The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation elected Paul A. Levi, Jr., D.M.D., to its board of directors October 5 at its annual meeting in Philadelphia. Levi maintains a private practice in Burlington, Vermont, and is chairman of the postdoctoral clinical program in periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He also holds academic appointments in the Department of Surgery, Medical Center of Vermont, and the University of Vermont, School of Allied Health Sciences.

In June of this year, Levi was presented with the Clinical Faculty Teaching Award by the Class of 2002, Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Through his work at Harvard he has been invited to present courses in Germany and at three universities in Thailand, where he recently worked with the faculty of Prince of Songkla University in a free dental clinic at the Thailand Naval Base in Songkla, Thailand.

Levi served on numerous committees for the American Academy of Periodontology and in 1998 served on the advisory board of the AAP Foundation. He is also active in the American Dental Association, Vermont State Dental Society, Vermont Periodontal Association, Massachusetts Periodontal Society, and Champlain Valley Dental Society.

The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is dedicated to improving the periodontal health of the public by increasing public and professional awareness of periodontal diseases; stimulating and supporting clinical research and the generation of new knowledge; and enhancing educational programs and opportunities in periodontology. Periodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.
