Dr. Katancik joined the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry Department of Periodontology in 1998, following completion of his periodontal specialty training at SUNY at Buffalo. He also holds a
Dr. Katancik has produced numerous peer-reviewed abstracts and articles. He has received considerable support for his research, including a Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Award from the NIH.
The Bud and Linda Tarrson Fellowship was created to encourage gifted periodontal clinicians who have a demonstrated facility for teaching, to pursue an academic career. Created out of an initiative by the late Bud Tarrson and his wife Linda, the award is the largest individual privately funded fellowship in periodontology. Candidates must be either full-time or part-time faculty members at the instructor or assistant level and affiliated with a degree-granting institution for
