Articles will be published months rather than weeks ahead of print publication, making this an attractive feature for
authors and readers alike.
Visit the publish-ahead-of-print
(PAP) section in the online Journal of Periodontology. An example that illustrates the benefits of PAP is the
commissioned paper Temporary Anchorage Devices: An Interdisciplinary Treatment 
by Drs.
Michael McGuire, Todd Scheyer, and Ronald
Gallerano. With an acceptance date of May 24, 2006,
this paper was not scheduled to appear in print until the October or
November issue. However, with PAP, the article was
published online in August.
All articles published in this section have undergone
complete peer review and copy editing, and have
received author approval. To view full-text PAP articles, sign
in to the online Journal by entering your username and password. Then click on Journal of Periodontology in the left-hand column, and then
select “Ahead of Print” from the list of issues in the
center of the screen.
Caution: On your first visit to the new online
