2009 Annual Meeting Registration Information
 | Registration fees, guidelines, and forms for the AAP Annual Meeting September 12-15 in Boston.
|
REGISTRATION DEADLINES
Registration forms must be received by July 31
for early pricing. Late Registration will
be available online from August 1-September 11, 12:00 noon Central Time. No registrations will be processed via fax
or mail beginning August 21. Late registrants will be charged a higher fee where appropriate.
The deadline for housing reservations is August 19.
HOW TO REGISTER
For advance registration, please use only one of the registration methods below to avoid duplicate records and multiple charges. Housing
reservations and meeting registration cannot be accepted
over the phone. Make checks payable to the American
Academy of Periodontology, or charge your fees with Visa
or MasterCard. Other credit cards, Euro Cards, purchase
orders and wire transfers are not accepted.
- Register & Make Housing Reservations Online. Due to the large number of attendees often registering online at the exact same time, occasionally access is granted to a program on the initial acknowledgement that it is already sold out. Please do not consider your event ticket confirmed until you receive a formal confirmation from Experient.
- Mail the Registration & Housing Form
enclosing your check (drawn in US funds from a US bank) or credit card (MasterCard or Visa) payment to:
Experient/AAP Annual Meeting 2008
P.O. Box 4088
Frederick, MD 21705
- Fax the Registration & Housing Form
with credit card (MasterCard or Visa) payment to Experient at 301-694-5124 (local and international fax)
New This Year!
At $200, the one-day registrant fee will be available
on-site (only), and allows access to those courses
and events included in the registration price for that
particular day.
Membership Number
It is imperative that members of the Academy place their
membership number on the Housing and Registration
Form. Failure to do so could result in a delay of processing. Misplaced
your member number? Contact the membership
department at
member.services@perio.org or
800-282-4867.
Professional Registrants
Under no circumstances may a dentist register
as a guest, spouse, exhibitor, dental assistant, dental
hygienist, office staff, family member or dental trade.
Registration will be revoked for dentists who register in
any category other than "dentist" and the dentist will be
charged the appropriate registration fee or will be asked
to leave the meeting. Spouses who are dentists are
considered such, and therefore, are expected to
register in a professional category. This is particularly true if you are
seeking
CE credits from the AAP.
Spouse Registration
An approved AAP member category is allowed one (1)
spouse/guest registration. Approved registration
categories are Active, Associate, International and
Honorary members. Persons that register in the
Spouse/Guest category are entitled to attend the
following courses and events:
AAP Center
AAP Foundation Booth
AAP/AAPF Corporate Forum
Exhibition
Opening Ceremony and Reception
Research Forum Poster Session
Under no circumstances will spouses be allowed
to attend any continuing education courses, including
General Sessions, Innovations in Periodontics,
Focused
CE and
Hands-On Workshops.
Emergency Contact Information
In accordance with the Academy’s Crisis Management Plan, the registration form asks attendees to provide emergency contact information in the event an
emergency arises during the Annual Meeting. This information will be
maintained by Academy staff and will not be used for purposes other than
in the event of an emergency.
Other Important Registration Policies
General registration for the meeting is required to register
for ticketed events and programs (with the exception of
the
AAP/AAP Foundation Presidents’ Gala, the After-Party, the Dental Hygiene Symposium and the Insurance Workshops).
Members in the Active, Associate, International and
Honorary member categories may purchase as many
tickets as desired for each Insurance Workshop for
distribution to staff. Staff will not be required to register
for the meeting, nor will they receive a badge. However,
staff should obtain a ticket from their doctor, which
they must bring to attend each workshop. Staff members attending only an Insurance Workshop are not considered registered for the meeting; nor will they be allowed to attend other meeting functions or have access to any areas of the Exhibit Hall.
REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
Confirmations will be
e-mailed if an address is provided. Allow 72 hours
for receipt of your registration confirmation. Contact
Experient at 866-229-2386 or 301-694-5243 if you do
not receive your confirmation within 72 hours, as this
delay could be the result of your housing request being
unavailable.
