The Leadership, Engagement, Action, and Development (LEAD) Program is an exclusive two-day program designed to identify future leaders in periodontics, cultivate the necessary skills to ensure success, and inspire a commitment to advance the profession. Topics to be covered at the LEAD Program include opportunities within organized dentistry; clinical, practice, and scientific leadership; effective community outreach, and professional relationship development.
This year’s program is scheduled for September 20-22, 2024, in Chicago. Air travel, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and meals will be provided for selected participants. It is a requirement that a selected participant attends the entirety of the program.
Nomination Criteria:
To be eligible for the 2024 LEAD Program, nominees must:
- Be an Active AAP member in good standing who has been in practice less than 10 years
- Have demonstrated a previous aptitude for leadership during residency, within periodontal practice, or in another setting
- Have shown an interest in playing a role in moving the specialty forward through clinical, scientific, or organizational leadership
