Leadership, Engagement, Action, and Development (LEAD) Program
The AAP is seeking nominations for participants for the 2025 Leadership, Engagement, Action, and Development (LEAD) Program. The LEAD Program is an exclusive two-day program designed to identify future leaders in periodontics, cultivate the necessary skills to ensure success, and inspire a commitment to advance the profession. Topics to be covered at the LEAD Program include opportunities within organized dentistry; clinical, practice, and scientific leadership; effective community outreach, and professional relationship development.
This year’s program is scheduled for September 19-21, 2025, in Chicago. Air travel, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and meals will be provided for selected participants. It is a requirement that a selected participant attends the entirety of the program.
Nomination Criteria:
To be eligible for the 2025 LEAD Program, nominees must:
- Be an Active AAP member in good standing who has been in practice between 3 – 10 years.
- Have demonstrated a previous aptitude for leadership during residency, within periodontal practice, or in another setting
- Have shown an interest in playing a role in moving the specialty forward through clinical, scientific, or organizational leadership.
- Nominees must be nominated by another AAP member. Self-nominations and previous participants of the LEAD Program are not eligible.
The deadline for 2025 LEAD Nominations is April 30, 2025.
