This course will begin with an overview of the autonomic nervous system to help participants understand the nature of medical emergencies and treatment options, including emergency medications that should be in every periodontal office. Additionally, specific medical emergencies, including those related to sedation, will be discussed, as well as how a practice owner can set up a plan to prepare his or her periodontal office staff to respond.
