AWARDS
Dental Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology
Nominate a graduating dental student who displays the highest level of academic and clinical achievement related to periodontics.
This unique honor is given at each dental school to the graduating senior who displays the highest level of academic and clinical achievement related to periodontics. Recipients receive a plaque presented at each school’s award ceremony. Guidelines for submitting a name to receive the Dental Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology will be sent to program chair in February of each year. Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Award
Nominate a periodontal educator who has demonstrated commitment to excellence in providing education in the full scope of periodontics.
This award is presented to the periodontal educator at each institution who has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in providing education in the full scope of periodontics, and relays that enthusiasm to students. The Periodontal Department Chair selects the name of the award recipient. Awards are presented at the institution’s award ceremony. Guidelines for submitting a name to receive the Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics are sent to program chair in February of each year. Award
Each recipient receives a certificate.
Eligibility
- May be a predoctoral or postdoctoral educator
- May be a full-time or part-time faculty member
- Must be a member of the American Academy of Periodontology
- May be eligible again three years following date of award
Nomination and Selection Process
The Periodontal Department Chair submits the name of the recipient to the AAP’s Education and Liaison Department.
Presentation
Awards are presented at the institution’s award ceremony.
