AAP LUNCH & LEARN PROGRAM
The AAP Lunch & Learn Program provides an opportunity for dental students to learn firsthand about the specialty of periodontics from a local AAP member periodontist. Lunch & Learns allow dental students interested in pursuing a periodontal career to interact with a practicing periodontist, and ask real-life questions about postdoctoral education, current practice trends, and challenges within the profession. The Lunch & Learn Program aims to encourage prospective dental students to apply to a postdoctoral periodontal program.
Lunch & Learns are typically scheduled over the lunch hour, but exceptions can be made to schedule over the dinner hour, depending on which works best for the institution and the volunteer speaker. The programs usually take place in a classroom or lecture hall, depending on the expected number of participants.

DENTAL STUDENT INTEREST GROUP (DSIG)
The DSIG provides predoctoral dental students who have an interest in periodontics online access to all AAP member-only content, including the Journal of Periodontology and a multitude of research and practice info.
